What each part of PileManager is for, and how a site uses it
Getting started
What PileManager is
A record system for bored piling contractors: the forms your site already fills in by hand, kept once, checked as they are typed, and added up for you.
Setting up: the first week
The order to do things in, so the site can start recording on day one and the boards fill themselves in afterwards.
Who does what, day by day
The same day, seen by the four people who touch the system.
The daily work
Daily Piling Report
One record per pile: what was bored, when, through what, and what went into it.
Daily Production Report
One per day for the whole site: who was there, what plant worked, what was produced, what went wrong.
Diesel Consumption Record
Who got fuel, where, how much — and whether it went into a rig or into everything else.
Daily Material Movement Report
What came in, what went out, and what was sent to another store.
Marking the day's attendance
The paper roster, kept once, on the screen it was going to be typed into anyway.
Daily Manpower Report
One record per day: how many of each trade were on the works, on which bridge.
Registers
People: the register and the roster
Who is on the books, what they do, and where they were.
Stores and stock
What is held, where, and how it got there.
Projects, bridges and the pile register
The structure everything else hangs on, and the plan the progress bars are a percentage of.
Plant and equipment
The machines on site, whose they are, and what they are doing.
