Who is on the books, what they do, and where they were.
The staff register (Administration → People)
One card per person: name, staff number (PM-0001, given by the system), designation, usual site, telephone, and whether they are your own employee or a subcontractor's.
The staff number rather than the telephone is what tells two people apart — the paper sheets have blanks in the phone column, one number written twice and one corrected in biro.
Loading the crew from paper. Paste the attendance sheet straight into the box: one person per line, NAME, DESIGNATION, PHONE, separated by commas, semicolons or tabs. Row numbers at the front are ignored. It shows you what it read before anything is written; names already on the register are left alone, and a designation nobody has used yet is added to the list rather than dropped.
The two boxes at the top of the screen:
- Site — which site you are working with. A new person is added to this one by default.
- Show — This site's crew only (the default), or Everybody, all sites when you want the whole company in one list.
Designations (People → Designations)
One list of trades and roles, shared by the staff cards, the attendance roster and the manpower plan. Two lists would be "Rigger" on one screen and "Rigging" on another, with no way to add them together.
It arrives with what a piling site uses — the trades off the sheet (bentonite, casting board, rigger, trimming pipe, rig / crane / JCB / MCP operator, motor boy, welder, mechanic, electrician, plumber, labour) and the staff roles (site engineer, piling engineer, QA/QC engineer, quantity surveyor, supervisor, surveyor, safety officer, storekeeper, foreman). Add your own at any time.
The manpower plan (Administration → Manpower plan)
What the site intends to have, per trade, beside what it actually has:
- Planned — the only figure anybody types.
- On the books — staff cards for this site, counted from the register.
- On site — who was marked present on the last day the roster was filled in.
Fill actual from the register copies the headcount into the plan's actual column, and adds a row for any trade on site that nobody planned for — that gap being exactly what the screen is for.
